Registration is closed

Organisers of Land Rover’s 70th anniversary celebrations are delighted to announce that they have already sold around 750 tickets to the event, and have attracted some 25 sponsors. So if you are thinking about coming, be sure to book soon. Its going to be the biggest Land Rover event in Australia, ever.
In addition to Land Rover Australia, we have All Four x 4 Spares, 4WD Industries and Kingfisher Bay/Sunset House as “Vogue” sponsors. Donna at the Cooma Visitors Centre and Rogan from the Cooma Car Club have been doing a wonderful job assisting with the on-site preparations.
Registration will start at 3pm on Thursday 29 March and extend into Friday. Register at the Cooma Car Club in Bolaro Street. Saturday will be the day for LROCV’s Retro Rover’s Navigation Trial and several tag-along trips around the Cooma-Jindabyne region. Planning for these, and a Motorkhana and off-road trial are well advanced. See our web and Facebook pages for more details.
Meanwhile at the Showground we will have Land Rover Australia and the exhibitors, and a swap meet. There will be plenty of food and drink, and activities for the children. Join us for an informal BBQ at the Showground on Saturday evening and the Arthur Goddard Gala Dinner on Sunday. (Pre-booking and payment is required for both). Michael Bishop from Land Rover Heritage in the UK and Connie Beadell from Beadell Tours are guest speakers at the dinner.
Sunday is the big day. Vehicles will assemble at the Ti Tree Racecourse, with the Grand Parade through the main street of Cooma starting at 10am. The Shannons-sponsored parade will finish at the Showground where the vehicles will be displayed, from the 1948 Series Ones to the biggest and brightest Range Rover HSE’s, and every model in between. Again there will be plenty of activities at the Showground, with Land Rover’s Terrapod a major feature. We will see the latest model vehicles put through their paces. LROC (Sydney Branch) are organising two technical workshops over the weekend.
There will be loads of prizes over the course of the day and radiator badges awarded to ‘best in class’ for the Show and Shine.
LandyBitz, one of our key sponsors, are helping with the major prize for the 70th Anniversary Raffle. This is an amazing prize, offering a fully paid trip for two to the UK to see Land Rover in Solihull and participate in the UK 70th celebrations if you wish. Conditions apply.
With such a large number of people, accommodation will be tight. Try the event’s website in the first instance. If you are having issues, don’t hesitate to call the Cooma Visitor’s Centre and they will help you find a hotel, motel or camp site. And to remind you, our friends at Kingfisher Bay and Sunset House are offering 3 days on Fraser Island, to be drawn from a raffle for all who book for the 70th before the end of January.
