All participants in Club Trips need to bring with them on the trip a minimum amount of gear based on the grading of the trip. This is that in case of any problems should arise that all participants will have access to this. Optional/recommended gear is also included on the list and the decision  to carry this gear will be at each participants discretion and the grading of the trip. if in doubt about what you may require on a trip have a talk to either the trip leader or one of the committee.

The club also has some additional gear that it owns and the Trip leader will bring as required, but this equipment is in addition to the gear that should be carried by every participant not replacing it.

Gear to be carried by all members on scenic trip

  • CB Radio.  AM Ch 5 / UHF Ch 17
  • Covered footwear
  • Fire extinguisher
  • First Aid kit

Gear to be carried by all members on other trips

  • Rated recovery points front and rear (tow balls are not suitable)
  • Snatch strap
  • Tow rated D or bow shackles

Optional but highly recommended gear

  • Emergency spare parts, tools and fluids (e.g. water / oil / WD40 /etc.)
  • Extra tow straps, drag chains and tree trunk protectors
  • High lift jack and suitable base plate
  • Rigger’s gloves (for handling winch cables etc.)
  • Shovel, Axe and Bush Saw
  • Terrain specific tyres, air compressor and tyre pressure gauge
  • Torch / work light
  • Winch—portable (e.g. Tirfor) or vehicle mounted including any spares and accessories (e.g. safety equipment, shear pins etc.)
